Food, Fireworks and Fires

Hello Everyone!

I love autumn. My birthday falls halfway through, Halloween and Bonfire Night are in autumn and that means lots of yummy food, fireworks and fires.

A couple of years ago, my mum made some of the most amazing Parkin. This year we are on a gluten-free thing so we can’t have the usual food for this time of year but for Halloween mum made a really nice pumpkin pie alternative. And of course there are all the sweets and toffy apples and cinder toffy and so on…. I never actually get to eat a lot of that stuff as I am dairy intolerant and keep my sugar levels down, but the things I do have are always amazing.

There are always fireworks going of for miles around come this time of year  and two nights our neighbours had a good little show. It was quite funny, I was eating dinner at the table and suddenly there was a big white flash followed by a big loud bang and I literally jumped out of my skin.

And then after the fireworks were finished we had a black out. All the lights went of here and in our neighbours house for about a minute. It was actually quite scary.

We always have a bonfire for the 5th of November. Although I’m actually quite nervous of fire I do love watching the flames lick round the logs and boxes and the smell of smoke as long as it doesn’t get in my hair and eyes.

In my house we actually have three open fires downstairs, although we only use one, and in the kitchen we have a Rayburn. This means that downstairs is always warm and cosy  which recently I LOVE.

And then usually because of all the events going on, friends are hosting parties. And normally I go to those except for this year.

Aside from all of that, I love the colours, the smells and the crispness of autumn. The leaves falling from the trees in an array of reds and yellows and oranges and browns and greens. The smell of leaf litter, mushrooms and damp. And the crisp, clear, coldness of the air, causing my breath to gather in little puffs of clouds.

I seem to be on a roll! Ok I need to stop with that…

I want to thank every one who liked my posts on the 31st because…..

On Tuesday October 31, 2017, you surpassed your previous record of most likes in one day for your posts on StableStoreys. That’s pretty awesome, well done!

So I know that an increase of one like isn’t that amazing but it was a nice suprise in my inbox… Thankyou guys!

Also, did you guys have a good Halloween? I watched Sixth Sense for the first time with my mum and absolutely loved it!

I hope you all liked this post, it was written last minute off the top of my head in very little time.

Hide and Seek

Call out. Call loud: ‘I’m ready! Come and find me!’
The sacks in the toolshed smell like the seaside.
They’ll never find you in this salty dark,
But be careful that your feet aren’t sticking out.
Wiser not to risk another shout.
The floor is cold. They’ll probably be searching
The bushes near the swing. Whatever happens
You mustn’t sneeze when they come prowling in.
And here they are, whispering at the door;
You’ve never heard them sound so hushed before.
Don’t breathe. Don’t move. Stay dumb. Hide in your blindness. They’re moving closer,  someone stumbles, mutters;
Their words and laughter scuffle, and they’re gone.
But don’t come out just yet; they’ll try the lane
And then the greenhouse and back here again.
They must be thinking that you’re very clever,
Getting more puzzled as they search all over.
It seems a long time since they went away.
Your legs are stiff, the cold bites through your coat;
The dark damp smell of sand moves in your throat.
It’s time to let them know that you’re the winner.
Push off the sacks. Uncurl and stretch. That’s better!
Out of the shed and call to them: ‘I’ve won!
Here I am! Come and own up I’ve caught you!’
The darkening garden watches. Nothing stirs.
The bushes hold their breath; the sun is gone.
Yes, here you are. But where are they who sought you?

Hello Everyone!

Look at me, two weeks posting in a row! I honselty have shocked myself XD

Sooo! I decided to post the above poem by Vernon Scannell today as I love it.  As I am taking English Literature, I am currently reading a lot of poems and although I’m not a big fan of poetry this one really grabbed my liking.

I also thought that it was appropriate as it is slightly creepy and spooky; perfect for this time of the year 😉

I’m not going to do an analysis today as I honestly hate analysing poems but if I do write one in my lessons, I will post it.

What do you think of Hide and Seek? Does it make you shiver a little at the end? It does me.

Sorry for the weird, short post guys, I’m short of time.

What are your plans for Halloween? What are you dressing up as?

I, myself am going to be sat at home, alone, possibly carving a pumpkin alone as I have no friends who can come over. :‚(

Anyways…

Birthday Haul!!!

Hello Everyone!!!

SO about three weeks ago it was my birthday! and i thought I would do a little (or should I say massive) birthday haul for you guys seeing as I keep talking about branching out my content.

I just want to put a disclaimer here: I am not posting this to show off or brag about the things I’ve got. I merely wish to share with those of you who might be interested  🙂

SO! The first things I was given were from my mum and they were a lovely locket with a Pegasus on it from a company called ? and a box of  chocolates. I have no idea what I’m going to put in the locket though :/

The bracelet at the top is the one she sent.

Then the day after my birthday, my step dad (he’s not really and I don’t like calling him that but there is no other way to describe him other than my mum’s partner but then that makes it sound like I hate him…) bought me a brand new Patagonia rucksack that is soooo nice!

THEN! three days after my birthday, my aunt took me out for a day in town. Originally we were going to get my ears pierced but it turned out I needed photo identification so… We ended up doing a mahoosive! shop.

The first thing we found was a phone case for my phone. Admittedly it is bright pink :/ but it’s better than nothing.

I went swimming in the cold British sea on two occasions this August!

Hello everyone!

Soooo… Today I was going to share a tack haul with you but it turns out I can’t make tack whilst I’m ill. Thought it’d be the perfect time to sit and make some but NOOO!!!

I got ill about a month ago and then it was the holidays so we had lots of guests over and I’ve only just got a bit of time to sit and write and as I have no tack to share with you and I am short on time, I thought I would just write a chatty post.

This August we had our annual family visit from my “step” aunt and cousin and then also from a couple of friends.

During both the visits we ended up going to the beach. I went swimming in the cold British sea on two occasions this August!

First time I couldn’t go out very far and the second time me and my friend went in really deep about three times. The last time I had to get out when another friend remarked, rather alarmed, that my lips had gone blue and I noticed that my legs were seizing up.

But other than that it was amazingly refreshing and really energised me.

Have any of you ever swum in a freezing cold sea?

Anyways I am thinking about redecorating my room and I was wondering if you would like to see the process?

I’ve been thinking quite hard about my youtube videos and my blog content and wondering wether I should maybe branch out a bit and make this blog more open.

I keep starting new blogs, trying to start a lifestyle one and so on but it never works as I’m already juggling two blogs. This one and another. So I thought perhaps I should just start posting more lifestyle style posts here as well as the usual model stuff.

I don’t really know. So I’m going to ask you guys. Cast your vote in the comments and we’ll see whether StableStoreys stays stables only or branches out.

Sorry this is a short post, as I said, I’m a bit short on time once again.

Slightly Different

Hello Everybody!

Today’s post is slightly different.

I was looking through Pinterest  when I found something amazing.

I love miniatures and also architecture. So miniature houses really excite me.

And this really really really excited me:

Modern House 2 by Jim Magni and Joan Behnke

It’s so amazing!!! ☼.☼ (。♥‿♥。)

I want it so bad!

I don’t think i have ever mentioned this before but I love to watch MyFroggyStuff on YouTube.

Her minitures are amazing and I have made some great stuff under her instruction.

towaco5oh recently shared a post with a couple of videos in it.

The channel thay came from is: The Square to Spare. There are some really good crafts on there that I may have to have a look at following.

This is my fave that I’ve looked at so far. I also love the below one.

Anyways sorry for the short post. I don’t have much time on my hands.

A Serious Post

Hey everyone.

I don’t normally blog about my feelings and emotions unless it’s related to a new model, a thing I have or such the like. And when I do, those feelings and emotions are pretty much always good.

But I am human and I do have days when I just want to curl up in a ball and block out the whole world.

Blogging is one of the things that really makes me happy. I love it. It’s like it’s almost therapeutic for me.

Also crafting can make me feel great but sometimes, if I do too much then I can get really down and start thinking about the pointlessness of life, why do I exist, how we’re all going to die eventually and then I just sink in to a black hole and can’t come out until my mum gets so fed up, we end up having an argument and then I tell her my feelings and  she makes it all better.

sorry if I just ruined your day
:/

Another thing that really gets me down is seeing other people riding. Which is inescapable where we live.

It makes me jealous of the rider cause I’m not them and I wish I was, it makes me question my love of horses cause ”if loving horses so much when I can’t interact with them causes me so much pain then whats the point?” and it makes me fall down another black hole where I wish my life was that of an incredibly rich person who could pretty much have everything they ever wanted i.e. a stable full of horses, a mansion, a walk in wardrobe, a… You get the picture.

Something that really helps my lack of horses slump is my volunteer job with the RDA.

I’ve never written about this before although I have meant to and I have now decided that next weeks post will be about that.

Anyways… My volunteer job basically has me next to a horse/pony for around two hours a week. Sure it’s not riding but it still helps.

And the last thing that gets me down is my lack of friends. I have a grand total of three close friends and then two other friends. I am a social person although I pretend not to be. I need to be surrounded by people to be perfectly happy and living where I do and not going to school makes that quite hard.

The friends that I do have are brilliant and I love them all but for me five friends that I either never see or see not very often is just not enough for me to thrive.

I do have my ”online friends” as well of course but even they are few. They are great! But few.

Anywaysss I’m sorry this post has been so dreary but I never really let this stuff out and I kinda cracked today.

I’m not using this as a plea for sympathy or friendship, I just… I guess I just wanted you all to know that I’m not perfect and if I don’t post on a saturday, sometimes it’s because I haven’t been able to find the motivation or the confidence to. Or sometimes it’s because I just havn’t been bothered cause I feel crap.

Again sorry for the long dreary post, I promise next week’s will be happier. If you’ve read all the way through, thankyou 🙂

Seeya.
